An elegant wedding guest outfit has to do three things: look beautiful in the photographs, last from the ceremony to dinner, and never upstage the bride. Dress, suit or tuxedo: here is how to choose, and how to order online with complete peace of mind.

The two rules that never change

No white, and no cream too close to white: it belongs to the bride. And no head-to-toe black for a daytime ceremony; it works better in the evening. Beyond that, anything goes.

Dress, suit or tuxedo?

The dress remains the simplest choice: a long dress for an evening wedding, a cocktail dress for a daytime ceremony.

The suit is the most comfortable for a long day, and the easiest to wear again afterwards: a jacket and trousers in the same fabric, with a dressy top underneath. See tailoring.

The women's tuxedo is the most elegant option without being the most expected: a satin-lapel blazer, cigarette or flared trousers. It is the outfit that makes an impression without stealing the show. See our tuxedos.

The jumpsuit, long and fluid, has the look of a dress with the freedom of trousers. See our jumpsuits.

By time of day and venue

During the day and outdoors, light fabrics and pale or bright colours. In the evening, satin and lace catch the light. For a civil ceremony followed by dinner, a suit or a tuxedo moves from one to the other without a change of outfit.

The fabric, the part people forget

A wedding outfit is judged at the end of the evening. Crease-resistant crepe stays crisp after the journey and the hours seated; the screpino of our tuxedos keeps its line. All our pieces are machine washable and made in Italy.

Frequently asked questions

Can a wedding guest wear trousers?
Yes. A well-cut suit or tuxedo is as elegant as a dress, and more comfortable for dancing.

Can I wear black to a wedding?
In the evening, yes, especially lifted with satin. During the day, choose another colour.

When should I order my outfit?
At least three weeks before the wedding, to keep time for a size exchange.
