Satin
Crepe satin, not pure satin. The crepe backing gives it weight and a matte side, so it catches the light without the hard shine that photographs badly.
It is the fabric of the evening pieces — draped column dresses, camisoles bordered with lace, palazzo trousers — and of the satin facings on the tuxedo jackets.
