Wedding guest outfit in Lyon
You've been invited. You have a date, a venue, a time, and that recurring question: what do I wear?
This isn't an outfit to take lightly. You will be photographed, you will be on your feet for a long time, and you will transition from the ceremony to the drinks reception and then the dinner. A beautiful outfit that doesn't last the day isn't a beautiful outfit.
The two rules to know
Neither white nor all-black. White belongs to the bride. Black remains associated with mourning in religious ceremonies—it works for evening events, less so during the day.
Nothing that distracts. A guest's outfit should be noticeable without stealing the spotlight. That is the line between elegance and a fashion faux pas.
Everything else is fair game.
Choosing according to the time of day
Daytime wedding — midi lengths, light or powdery shades, fluid fabrics. A dress with a short jacket adapts to both the temperature and the flow of the day.
Evening wedding — a long dress is the natural choice. Deep shades photograph well: midnight blue, plum, forest green, terracotta.
Civil ceremony or cocktail party — a two-piece set is often the most appropriate choice. A fluid top and wide-leg trousers in the same material create a structured look, and each piece can be worn separately afterwards.
The dress, the suit, or the set
The dress remains the simplest choice. A straight or slightly flared cut suits most body types.
The trouser suit is the most comfortable for a day that starts at the town hall and ends late. It is timeless and can be worn again to the office.
The two-piece set offers the best versatility: it is a formal outfit on the big day, and two separate pieces afterwards.

The fabrics make the day
A wedding outfit should be judged at 6:00 PM, not in the fitting room. Favor a fluid fabric over a rigid one: our wrinkle-free crepe stays looking good all day without creasing, even after sitting for three hours during lunch.
All our pieces are made in Italy and are machine washable.
Plan for alterations
A formal outfit almost always requires alterations. Hems, waist, sleeve length: those three centimeters make all the difference.
We provide alterations in the boutique. Three weeks are enough: time for the fitting, the alteration, and a final check. If you come in six to eight weeks beforehand, we can also order in a size or color that is not currently in the boutique.
